Pickleball Goes Global: Intuit Sport Prepares for International Distribution

Over the past several years, we have watched pickleball grow rapidly across the United States.

Since 2022, that domestic growth has been impossible to miss.

What changed in 2024 and 2025 was the scale of the sport’s international expansion.

For the first time, we began seeing the same kind of momentum developing across international markets, with new tournaments, federations, clubs, players, and professional events emerging around the world.

By the end of 2024, the Global Pickleball Federation had grown to more than 50 member countries. Professional pickleball was also beginning to expand internationally, with new competitive infrastructure developing across Asia, Europe, Australia, India, Canada, and other markets.

For Intuit Sport, that growth created a new question:

How do we participate in the international development of the sport while building a distribution system capable of supporting it?

Supporting the Sport as It Grows

Our first step has been participation.

Intuit Sport has begun sponsoring pickleball events in growing international markets, putting our equipment directly into environments where new players are discovering the sport and competitive communities are beginning to form.

For us, sponsorship is not simply about putting a logo on an event.

It gives us an opportunity to introduce players to the equipment, support organizers who are helping build local pickleball communities, and better understand how the sport is developing outside the United States.

Different markets develop differently.

Players have different purchasing habits.

Retail infrastructure varies.

Pricing expectations change.

And in many places, the sport is still early enough that relationships with local clubs, tournaments, coaches, and organizers can have a meaningful impact.

Being involved at that stage gives us a much better understanding of where Intuit Sport can fit.

A Global Sport Needs Better Distribution

Selling internationally creates a different operational challenge.

It is one thing to receive an occasional order from another country and ship it manually.

It is another thing to build a repeatable distribution system.

As Intuit Sport prepares for the next stage of international growth, we are beginning the process of moving toward third-party logistics, or 3PL, distribution.

The goal is to create a more scalable system for storing inventory, processing orders, coordinating fulfillment, and supporting retail and distribution partners across multiple markets.

Instead of treating every international shipment as an exception, we want the infrastructure to support international sales as a normal part of the business.

Why 3PL Matters

For a growing equipment company, logistics can become a bottleneck quickly.

Every additional market creates new questions around inventory, shipping times, order processing, product availability, and retailer support.

A 3PL network gives us the ability to build a more structured system around those challenges.

Inventory can be positioned closer to customers.

Orders can be processed more efficiently.

Retail and distribution partners can be supplied more consistently.

And our internal team can spend more time focused on product development, partnerships, athletes, and market expansion.

It is not the most visible part of building a sports brand.

But as the company grows internationally, it may become one of the most important.

Following Where the Sport Is Going

The international growth of pickleball reinforces something we have increasingly come to understand.

The opportunity is larger than the U.S. market.

For our first several years, much of what we saw was happening domestically. By 2024 and 2025, that began changing quickly.

National organizations expanded.

International competitions became more serious.

Professional tours began entering new markets.

More clubs were opening.

More players were discovering the sport.

And the infrastructure necessary to support a global pickleball industry was beginning to take shape.

For an equipment company, that creates opportunity, but entering a new market cannot simply mean shipping products there.

We need to understand the players.

We need to support the communities.

We need reliable distribution.

And we need relationships with the people actually building the sport locally.

From Sponsorship to Distribution

Our international strategy is beginning with events and relationships.

Sponsoring tournaments gives players an opportunity to interact with Intuit Sport products.

Those relationships help us understand demand.

Demand helps us determine where inventory should go.

And a 3PL distribution system gives us the infrastructure to support those markets as they grow.

Each piece connects to the next.

We are still early in that process, but the direction is becoming increasingly clear.

We watched pickleball establish itself in the United States.

Now we are watching it become global.

Intuit Sport intends to grow with it.

Support the players. Support the events. Build the infrastructure. Follow the game wherever it grows.
